Before starting the residency, I had already worked with Julian Lorenzo for years and knew Javi Mendizabal.
They became the first test for this project — my guinea pigs in a way.
The experiment worked.
Not only did I get to know them better, both as artists and as people, but a real connection formed.

Julian Lorenzo is recognized for his multidisciplinary practice. A painter, illustrator, skateboarder, and musician, his diverse worlds intertwine in his work: his paintings are both graphic and organic, simple yet complex, inviting multiple layers of interpretation.

The female form serves as his primary inspiration, expressed through an enigmatic cubist approach.

Javier Mendizábal is a well-known name in the skateboarding world and has been part of the industry for years. But after leaving Barcelona and moving to France, his life changed: from constantly being on tour to having time to paint and surf.

Now, he spends most of his days either in his studio or in the water.
